This is too cool!
The site has new members signing up everyday and (drumroll, please) the first song uploads are now on the site! Some of the other members have commented on the songs and other members have emailed me that they're going to be uploading their own songs any day now!
I'm psyched!
The CyberStars forum is such an awesome way for singers to showcase their talents and quite a thrill for them (and the other Members, too!) to have those songs on the site for the world to hear!
Karaoke-ing after 3 shots of tequila is one thing, but doing it stone-cold-sober and posting your songs live on the internet takes MUCHO DANUTZO!
Kudos to these brave and talented peeps!!

OnlinePopstar.com is live!
What started as a nifty idea exactly one year ago, has emerged from the mist of promise and is now a real, tangible, living breathing entity! The only thing I can equate this experience to is pregnancy and childbirth, oddly enough. Now, just like a mother with a newborn child, I am up all hours of the night nurturing my needy little creation and preparing it for life out on it's own; on the World Wide Web!

The idea to create a website that would sponsor a Worldwide karaoke competition was a fanciful one, to say the least. To allow users to post their songs on the website for the world to hear and allow members to VOTE for their favorite; well it just sounded too good to be true. The idea, grew, evolved and became! I was driven by a passion for karaoke, a secret crush on reality programming, and an insatiable need to do what has not been done before.
The fact that I then knew nothing about web design, codes, software, scripting, et al did not deter me. Just like when I was going to have my first baby and read a mountain of child development books, I scoured the web for all the info I would need to accomplish my dream! And, just as my poor first child has been a guinea pig, so it is with OnlinePopstar...
I'll just have to wait for some feedback and comments to come along to give me something to go on. But, so far, I really love it! We have members signing up everyday and the day that the first contest begins will be like every Christmas and Birthday party all lumped together!
